The PhotoPerformer had the privilege to collaborate with the Cristian Duarte Dance Company on the creation and presentation of an hybrid composition of photography and choreography.
Moved by a program (score) based on repetition and imitation, the group of dancers-merged-photographers improvised a photo notation:
if photography is a form of writing with light, photo notation is a transcription of photography into body movements.
The objective of the experiment was to display a ‘chaotic order’ during which each participant would accumulate instructions to the point of losing control and forming new visual vocabulary.
